This is my mission

Hey there! I’m Gianluca.

I work in product sustainability, which sounds fancy but really just means I spend my days figuring out how to make things better for people and the planet. And here’s what I’ve learned: sustainability isn’t some exclusive club for experts with PhDs and corporate budgets. It’s for everyone.

You know what gets me excited? When someone realizes they don’t need permission to care about this stuff. When a designer tweaks a product to use less material, when a developer chooses a greener hosting option, when someone in procurement asks one simple question about sourcing, that’s sustainability happening in real life.

I started this Substack because I’m tired of sustainability being treated like this mystical, complicated thing that only “professionals” can understand. Sure, I do this for work, but the best ideas I’ve encountered? They’ve come from conversations with people who just... gave a damn. People who asked obvious questions the rest of us were too caught up in jargon to ask.

So this is going to be a mix of things: stories from the trenches, practical stuff you can actually use, the occasional rant about greenwashing, and hopefully some honest conversations about what works, what doesn’t, and what we’re all still figuring out.
